We were excited to meet Ashley and Daniel for their Durham engagement photos. We’d been looking forward to this session after scouting locations a month earlier, discovering all the fun and unique places the city has to offer. Although the forecast for the day was cold and rainy, you would never know it looking at the photos. Ashley and Daniel could not be stopped by bad weather! Their natural chemistry shined through the clouds, warming up the grey day.
We took advantage of the covered areas of the American Tobacco Campus for our first look and right away we could tell that Ashely and Daniel were completely comfortable in front of the camera.

The American Tobacco Campus is filled with such great architecture, with little surprises tucked away around every corner, such as this old mural for coffee!
Ashley had said she wanted an industrial look to her Durham engagement photos, so we headed over to the Durham Brazing & Welding Works building for our next look.
While exploring the industrial area we happened upon an old abandoned truck that seemed to coordinate perfectly with Ashley’s blue dress.
We were blown away by Ashley’s last look, a daring bright red jumpsuit! Knowing that she was bringing this kind of energy to the session, we knew we had to go big for the last setups. Their confidence in themselves and in us really made for some powerful photos.
We love, love, LOVE it when people let loose and have fun in front of the camera! Ashley had such amazing style and personality it was hard to stop photoing her! We had such a great afternoon with Ashley and Daniel and we can’t wait for their wedding in July in Asheville!
