Our schedule for Uju and Tim’s Northern Virginia engagement photos was ambitious. We wanted to incorporate their enthusiasm for the outdoors while also focusing on their love of the urban feel of Washington, DC, which is where they call home.
We just love the planning stages of engagement sessions because we get to spend time tailoring the locations to a couple’s personality, which is always a fun challenge!
Once we learned that Tim proposed to Uju at one of the overlooks in Great Falls National Park, we knew we had to start there!
Another favorite spot that seemed perfect for their Northern Virginia engagement photos was Meadowlark Botanical Gardens in Vienna. Here you can find rolling hills and colorful, vibrant gardens. We arrived as the light was beginning to head towards the late afternoon glow.
Uju and Tim turned heads as we walked through the gardens and they posed for portraits. How beautiful is Uju in that cheerful yellow dress?? And doesn’t she have the best smile?
Our final stop for the night was a drive into Washington, DC in search of one of the many colorful murals that are part of the DC Arts project. Tim and Uju had selected a mural to showcase their love of DC and city life. The mural that they chose is titled “From Edgewood to the Edge of the World.” With large, swirling patterns and images, it encourages its viewers to step beyond their own personal boundaries, which seemed fitting for these two fun loving adventurers!
We had such a wonderful day exploring Northern Virginia and Washington, DC and capturing the love that these two clearly have for each other. We look forward to their wedding and all of the fun and joy that will come with it. Congratulations to Tim and Uju on their engagement!
