We got an email from Ann last October asking us to come down to do her Alexandria family photos in February. We were very excited because this meant she had some big news… she and David were expecting and wanted to schedule a family photo session once he was born!
Ann and her whole family are quite special to us. They brought us to Scotland last year for Ann and David’s wedding, as well as Kansas City, Charlottesville, Heppner and Hermiston, Oregon and a few other family and engagement shoots in between.
Needless to say we love this family and were incredibly excited to have the chance to see them again!
This fall’s Maryland Family Photo Session was a special one! It gave us a chance to reconnect with some friends that we have not seen in a few years.
Hilary and I were classmates in grad school many years ago. Over the years since we graduated she has gotten married and she and her husband now have an adorable little boy, Jasper!
Hilary, Jarad and Jasper live outside of Washington, DC in Silver Spring, Maryland.
Knowing that we make frequent trips to the Washington, DC area for photo jobs, she recently reached out to us and said that the next time we were in town, she wanted us to come over, catch up and take some family photos.
It’s no secret that we love to travel, for our own enjoyment and also for work, which is why we were excited about a Columbus, Ohio engagement session!
There is something about working in a new place that gives you a respect and appreciation for what makes each location unique. We had originally planned on doing Susan and Zach’s engagement session in Washington, DC. Susan grew up in the suburbs of Maryland and her love of the area drove her decision to have her home featured in her engagement photos.
Both recent graduates from law school at Ohio State, a new job offer in Columbus meant that it was going to be harder for them to arrange a trip down to Washington anytime soon. We jumped at the chance for a Columbus, Ohio engagement session and add another city to our growing number of places we’ve worked in.
July 29, 2016 was the 10 year anniversary of our William & Mary wedding and we wanted to commemorate it the only way we knew how, with an anniversary photo session!
It was a perfect fall day for Rachelle and Justin’s Takk House Wedding in Troy, NY.
Heidi and Andy’s fairy tale romance began long before their beautiful Old Town Alexandria wedding at the Torpedo Factory. It started years ago, when they met in Belgium as students studying abroad.
While their connection was instant, it was their true love that gathered everyone together on a this beautiful evening in October.
Sarah and Bryan’s Chevy Chase, Maryland wedding started off in a special location, as Sarah arrived at her childhood home to get ready.
If we had to use one word to describe Uju and Tim’s Martins West wedding, that word would be joyous. From beginning to end pure joy radiated from the two of them and it spread to all of us who were there.
August is a perfect time for a Saratoga Springs engagement!
The weather is absolutely perfect, flowers are in bloom and there is an extra energy in the air because it is horse racing season at the Saratoga Race Track.
Rachael and Joe love Saratoga as much as we do so we couldn’t wait to get our day started at The Yaddo Gardens, an artist retreat with a beautiful formal rose garden that is open to the public.
Lori and Peter’s Raleigh courthouse wedding was exactly what they hoped it would be, a celebration of their love for each other, surrounded by their family.
Photoing weddings for friends is always a treat, because you are able to spend the day with them, dedicating yourself to capturing special moments between themselves and their families. What better way to show them you love them than that?! Lori and Peter’s wedding is no exception.
On a beautiful 4th of July weekend in Napa, CA, family and friends from all over North America gathered to celebrate Lital + Josh at the Wedgewood Napa Wedding and Banquet Center.
One park that was on the top of our list for our mini National Parks tour was Arches National Park.
This was our second visit after a brief, impromptu stop during our last cross country extravaganza in 2015. All we had time for on that trip was the hike to Delicate Arch. It was so magnificent that we instantly knew we had to return to discover more of what this beautiful national park in Moab, Utah had to offer!
It did not disappoint.
