Rachel and William drove up from Alabama in January for a visit and for the chance to have some Raleigh engagement photos taken. Living in Alabama, they knew very few of their friends would have engagement photos from Raleigh, plus it gave them a chance to come and visit their favorite cousins! 😉
You might remember us mentioning Rachel and William. They are the ones we hid out in a cave for down in Alabama back on July 4th. Why, you may ask? Well to take photos of their proposal in front of a waterfall. It was incredibly romantic!
Needless to say we were excited they were able to find time to come and visit. January was the perfect time for Rachel, she is a kindergarten teacher and her school was on winter break. I mean look at her, doesn’t she look like the perfect kindergarten teacher? Her class is so lucky to have her! William is a Chaplain in the Army Reserves as well as the college minister at his church down in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
They’re actually a pretty incredible couple. Rachel is guiding and shaping children at the beginning of their school years and William is guiding and shaping young adults about to step out into the world. It’s pretty poetic if you ask us! 🙂
They spent the weekend with us and we took them to some of our favorite places in Raleigh to take their photos. We started at Umstead State Park and walked around taking pictures. This was a good location for the two of them because they love the outdoors, going for hikes and just being out in nature.
We brought them over to another one of our favorite places to go for a walk, the outdoor sculpture park at the North Carolina Museum of Art. This space gives you great opportunities to take some unique photos, such as with Thomas Sayre’s piece, Gyre.
We ventured out from Raleigh to Durham and the Sarah P. Duke Gardens, which even in January offered a beautiful background for their engagement photos.
We had such a great time doing Rachel and William’s Raleigh engagement photos! It was great to spend the weekend with them and to get to know Rachel even better. We are so excited for their wedding and to officially welcome Rachel into our family!
