Lisa Marie and James’ Washington, DC engagement photos were a way for them to capture some of the local areas that had significance to them. Though neither of them are from Washington, DC, they both have come to love the area that they now call home and love to take advantage of all their city has to offer.
We made our way through some of their favorite neighborhoods. One stop on our list was Navy Yard and the DC Waterfront, a place that they would frequent.
Another favorite location is the Capitol Hill district, an area known for its charming and historic row houses. We walked through the area, stopping for photos along the way.
Once we’d taken some photos in Washington, DC we decided to drive out to Dickerson, Maryland to see where Lisa Marie and James were planning to have their wedding and to take some more photos.
Both Lisa Marie and James are very outdoorsy so they were drawn to the charm of Calleva Farm, which offers seasonal outdoor educational programming. James serves as an educator at Calleva Farm and instantly saw the potential in their beautiful sprawling Maryland landscape.
We explored the woods surrounding the farm and were excited when we happened upon a surprise! In addition to offering seasonal outdoors programming they also run a very successful and very scary haunted forest for Halloween! We have frequented Markoff’s Haunted Forest many times, and absolutely love it! It didn’t take too much convincing for Lisa Marie and James to jump in to some of the spooky scenes and have some fun with with their engagement photos.
We ended our Washington, DC engagement photos back on the farm, which had an adorable little shed that served as a precious background!
It was such a blast exploring some of the locations that hold such significance for Lisa Marie and James’ Washington, DC engagement photos. It was wonderful to see these places through their eyes. We were especially thrilled to visit the space where they will soon stand together as they become husband and wife.
