July 29, 2016 was the 10 year anniversary of our William & Mary wedding and we wanted to commemorate it the only way we knew how, with an anniversary photo session!
On our way back east after our cross-country road trip to photo a wedding in Napa, California, we returned to where it all happened, Adam’s alma mater, The College of William and Mary!
Our ceremony was held at the Wren Chapel and our reception was at the Alumni House, so we wanted to feature them as the backgrounds for our anniversary shoot.
We returned to Williamsburg in mid July to take the photos and not even the heat and humidity (it was HOT!!!) could keep us from enjoying the day and reliving the moments.
It felt pretty special to stand on the steps of the Wren Chapel, where I had stood 10 years ago with my father, waiting to be escorted down the aisle towards Adam or to pose with Adam in front of the Alumni House just as we had done during our portrait session years ago.
Our busy summer schedule and uncertainty of when we could steal away to Williamsburg meant that we had to take the portraits ourselves. Thank goodness for modern technology, because Adam was able to use his iPhone to trigger our camera.
We had a wonderful time recreating moments from our William & Mary wedding that simultaneously seem so long ago and feel as though they were just yesterday.
