On a beautiful day in September, Sam and Brad’s family and close friends gathered together for a joyful Charles River Museum of Industry wedding. We were excited for the chance to work with Sam and Brad, having met them at their close friends Allison and Charlie’s wedding the past June in Vermont.
Set in a restored mill on the bank of the Charles River, the Charles River Museum of Industry and Innovation stood out to Sam and Brad as they rode by it on one of their frequent bike rides around Waltham, Massachusetts. We were eager to capture their wedding celebration in an area that held significant meaning to them.
DETAILS & GETTING READY
Sam and her mother, sister and friends gathered together at the Waltham Embassy Suite to get ready. The morning was spent trading memories and was filled with so much laughter and joy.
We LOVED Sam’s floral hair piece, expertly designed by Nicole Nguyen of Still Flowers! The bright and cheerful colors simultaneously complemented her beautiful red hair as well as her sunny personality.
These moments when the father sees his daughter in her gown for the first time are some of our favorites!
The stunning bride and her beautiful bridesmaids excitedly leaving for her Charles River Museum of Industry wedding! Their smiles say it all!
FIRST LOOK
We photoed their first look on the rustic bridge that crosses the Charles River and leads to the Charles River Museum of Industry. It was secluded enough that Sam and Brad were able to enjoy a private moment together in a fairly busy area.
PORTRAITS
The weather was perfect for some portraits outdoors! The bridge and the Charles River provided a lovely backdrop and it was hard to believe we were actually in a city!
The interior of the Charles River Museum of Industry provided some really unique settings for portraits.
Both Brad and Sam love bike riding. The vintage bikes were a perfect setting that added a personal touch to Brad’s portraits.
Brad and Sam took advantage of a stamp exhibit that is available for museum guests and provided metal pieces for their guests to take home as a little souvenir from the wedding.
BRIDAL PARTY
Some time before the wedding Brad had a dream that Sam cut her hair and died it blonde. Sam’s ladies decided to have a little fun with that and bought a wig for Sam to surprise Brad. His response was priceless!
CEREMONY
The ceremony was held in the park outside of the museum just as the sun was starting to set. The Charles River in the background made for a beautiful setting. Sam was escorted down the aisle by her father, with her adorable niece and nephew pulled in a wagon as the ring bearer and flower girl.
RECEPTION
The reception was a lively event as Sam and Brad’s families and friends gathered together in joyous celebration!
Congratulations to Sam and Brad! We wish you both a lifetime filled with love, laughter and so many adventures!
