On July 6, family and friends gathered together for Rachel and William’s Nashville wedding. It was a rainy summer day though you would not know it from the smiles and cheerful spirit of all who were there.
We were excited for the day for several reasons. William and I are cousins and there is something special about photoing a wedding for a member of your family! We were also excited because we had been there to capture their special moments on the way to their wedding day.
A year ago on July 4th, we hid in a cave and photoed William’s waterfall proposal to Rachel. So romantic!
Then we invited them out to Raleigh for their engagement photos, which was wonderful because we had the chance to get to know Rachel even better.
We were so honored to be spending their wedding day capturing all of the special moments that took place between the happy couple and their family and friends. Plus we were so happy to officially be welcoming Rachel into our family!
Rachel and her bridesmaids gathered at a local hair salon in the morning to have their hair and makeup perfected.
Once everyone was ready, it was time to head over to the church to finish getting ready!
Rachel and William were getting married at Crieve Hall Church of Christ, which is the same church that Rachel’s mother and father were married at years ago!
Once Rachel and William were ready, we met them in the sanctuary for their first look.
William, an Army Reserves Chaplain, looked so dapper standing in his military dress uniform waiting for Rachel to appear. The expression on his face said it all as he saw his beautiful bride to be walking up behind him!
They had planned to exchange gifts after their first look and William had one major surprise for Rachel!
You remember that we hid and took photos of their proposal? Well that was done in secret all for this very moment!
Her expression says it all she opened her present. A framed picture of the moment when he proposed. Can you think of a more thoughtful gift for your bride to be?!
We took some portraits inside the sanctuary and were thrilled to learn the rain let up long enough for us go to outside to take some photos of the bridal party!
The ceremony was beautiful, with an altar filled with candles and gorgeous sunflowers!
They held their reception in the church’s fellowship hall and then were sent off with bubbles and fanfare by their family and friends!
Congratulations Rachel and William on your Nashville wedding! We wish you a lifetime of love and adventure!
