We recently revisited a special spot with Hope and Rob, The North Carolina Museum of Art. Last August, the four of us attended a Tift Merritt concert at the museum and Hope was the only one who thought it was just another evening between friends. She had no idea that Rob was going to pop the question mid concert!
He had contacted us the night before, asking if we would be there to capture the moment. We obviously said yes and joined them the following night. It was pouring for most of the evening, but none us of us cared. We were all anxiously awaiting Rob’s cue. At the end of the concert, while everyone else was packing up and leaving, Rob asked, she said yes and we captured it all!
When they asked us to photo them for an official engagement session, it made perfect sense to revisit the museum and try and recapture some of the magic from that night. Little did we know that mother nature would also do her best to recreate it, down to the torrential rain!
From the moment we started, the sky looked ominous and we knew we needed to act fast. It started to pour midway through the shoot, so we took shelter and waited for the thunder and lighting to pass. About 30 minutes later, the sun peaked out and everything glistened, creating the perfect ambiance for the rest of the session.
Hope and Rob are a great couple to photograph. You can immediately tell that there is a lot of history between them because they are so comfortable together in front of the camera. Their natural chemistry made this session an easy one and we cannot wait until their wedding day in August. We just hope that mother nature doesn’t go for the trifecta. 🙂
Now enjoy some more of our favorites from our time with Hope & Rob!
