Katie and Luke’s Oregon engagement photos are our most adventurous engagement photo session to date! Four days filled with waterfalls, wheat fields, lupine, and a breathtaking coast was a dream come true!
Since this session back in 2011 we’ve photoed their wedding in Kansas City, plus their siblings weddings in Heppner, Oregon, Charlottesville, Virginia and even Scotland! We’ve even done a few family photo shoots as this family continues to grow!
As we were doing some organizing of our photo archives we came across Katie and Luke’s Oregon engagement photos and decided this couple was too adorable and the Oregon landscapes were too beautiful not to share!
Katie and Luke met while studying at the Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio. After a whirlwind relationship which featured a proposal at Luke’s family’s cabin in Oregon, they were engaged and invited us out to Oregon to take their engagement photos. We absolutely love the Pacific Northwest and were excited to spend the week exploring it!
We made a stop at the gorgeous Multnomah Falls, which is just outside of Portland along the Columbia River Gorge. A popular spot for many, this was a just a peek at the beautiful scenery we would be exploring for the next four days.
We stopped at the Vista House and took some photos while Katie and Luke gazed out at the Columbia River Gorge.
Our adventures continued as we set out to find more perfect landscapes for Katie and Luke’s photos. We didn’t have to look far before we found a field of lupine mixed in with Oregon’s lush evergreen forests.
How sweet is this picnic Katie put together?! The field of wildflowers added to the perfectly put together moment. It was this point where we became truly impressed with Katie’s eye for detail, from the outfit choices, to the plaid blanket and the sweet picnic basket, she came prepared!
Luke is from Heppner, Oregon. It’s a very small town tucked into the foothills of the Blue Mountains in north eastern Oregon. We climbed up a hill one evening and watched as the sun set over the town, bathing this sweet little town in a warm golden light.
Some of Luke’s family are farmers and we visited one of their massive wheat fields.
Our last excursion was to Cannon Beach and Haystack Rock, which was a dream location! As the sun set and cast a warm glow over the beach we couldn’t believe how fortunate we were to have had this experience.
