Rachael and Joe’s Sixty State Place Wedding was absolutely beautiful! Set in an old bank that has been converted to an event space, this was such a unique location and perfectly suited the bride and groom.
They are both from the Albany area, with Joe being from the state’s capitol and Rachael growing up a little further north in Clifton Park. Their love for the area guided their choices on where to get married and they were excited to take advantage of it on their wedding day.
Virginia and Adam’s Camp Kinder Ring Wedding was right out of a movie! Set at a summer sleepaway camp in Upstate New York, it was the perfect fit for the bride and groom.
Lauren and Dan’s Long Beach Island engagement photos are some our absolute favorites! Who wouldn’t love spending a day at the shore photoing an adorable couple like these two?!
Lauren and Dan grew up spending their summers with their families on the Jersey shore. Lauren and her family vacationed on Long Beach Island and Dan and his family were on the next barrier island over. They went to the same high school but it wasn’t until after graduation that they realized that perhaps they were more than just school mates!
Jess and Drew’s Las Cruces New Mexico wedding was an exceptional kick-off to our wedding season! We were beyond excited to travel to New Mexico to photo all of the joy and celebration on their special day.
We first met the couple at Jess’ cousin Ashley’s wedding in Asheville, NC. She and Drew made quite an impression as they ruled the dance floor that night, so we obviously were thrilled when they asked if we would want to come out for their Las Cruces New Mexico wedding!
Erica and Dan’s Boston engagement session played like a whirlwind tour of Boston. Starting at Fenway Park and ending with their beloved dog Mattie at Jamaica Pond, it was an incredible day spent soaking up much of what Boston has to offer!
We first met Erica and Dan a few years ago when Erica was in Liz and Harry’s infamous wedding. Erica was one of the bridesmaids stuck in the elevator with all of bridal party, the rabbi and us moments before Liz was to walk down the aisle. Needless to say, after snapping quite a few photos to memorialize the moment, we all bonded very quickly.
We were very excited when Erica and Dan reached out to ask if we would be interested in photoing their engagement and wedding, offering us the chance to spend yet another wedding with this truly wonderful couple.
Chioma and Uch’s Washington National Cathedral engagement session could not have happened at a better time! Spring time in Washington, DC is pretty spectacular so we were excited to take advantage of all the city has to offer.
A fun perk of planning engagement sessions with couples is that we get to search for locations that fit their personality and the look that they want for their photos. There are so many amazing places to photo in the city and we were looking for something that would be distinctly DC and would offer some natural beauty.
Looking for reception grand exit ideas? That perfect thing to end what is guaranteed to be an amazing wedding day?
Trying to decide whether you want to do a grand exit?
If we may offer our opinion, we LOVE IT when couples tell us they are doing a grand exit! It is one more opportunity for us to capture some truly memorable moments.
To help you out we have pulled together a selection of some of our favorite grand exits that we have photoed over the years!
We got an email from Ann last October asking us to come down to do her Alexandria family photos in February. We were very excited because this meant she had some big news… she and David were expecting and wanted to schedule a family photo session once he was born!
Ann and her whole family are quite special to us. They brought us to Scotland last year for Ann and David’s wedding, as well as Kansas City, Charlottesville, Heppner and Hermiston, Oregon and a few other family and engagement shoots in between.
Needless to say we love this family and were incredibly excited to have the chance to see them again!
This fall’s Maryland Family Photo Session was a special one! It gave us a chance to reconnect with some friends that we have not seen in a few years.
Hilary and I were classmates in grad school many years ago. Over the years since we graduated she has gotten married and she and her husband now have an adorable little boy, Jasper!
Hilary, Jarad and Jasper live outside of Washington, DC in Silver Spring, Maryland.
Knowing that we make frequent trips to the Washington, DC area for photo jobs, she recently reached out to us and said that the next time we were in town, she wanted us to come over, catch up and take some family photos.
It’s no secret that we love to travel, for our own enjoyment and also for work, which is why we were excited about a Columbus, Ohio engagement session!
There is something about working in a new place that gives you a respect and appreciation for what makes each location unique. We had originally planned on doing Susan and Zach’s engagement session in Washington, DC. Susan grew up in the suburbs of Maryland and her love of the area drove her decision to have her home featured in her engagement photos.
Both recent graduates from law school at Ohio State, a new job offer in Columbus meant that it was going to be harder for them to arrange a trip down to Washington anytime soon. We jumped at the chance for a Columbus, Ohio engagement session and add another city to our growing number of places we’ve worked in.
