There truly is nothing like a southern wedding. From the hospitality to the local charm, we feel like family every time we return to North Carolina.
Betsy and Jake were married on a beautifully bright and sunny Saturday at the end of May. The morning began with Betsy and her closest friends and family gathering at her aunt’s house, donning matching robes to prepare for the day. As the hair and makeup progressed, the house filled with music, singing, dancing and laughter as everyone anticipated what was to come!
This Pee-Wee Herman doll is an inside joke between Betsy and her bridesmaids and has attended many family functions. As soon as we saw it we new we had to use it! Probably our favorite ring shot ever???

CEREMONY
The ceremony was held at the historic Edenton Street United Methodist Church in downtown Raleigh. After the I Do’s, the bridal party piled into a limo and were chauffeured to the reception at The Garden on Millbrook.
PORTRAITS
In addition to our day of portraits of Betsy, Jake and the Bridal Party, we had the opportunity to accompany Betsy to the J.C. Raulston Arboretum for a separate bridal session earlier in April. This beautifully landscaped garden provided many gorgeous backdrops, allowing the bride and her beauty to stand out.
RECEPTION
A band filled The Garden On Millbrook with music as Betsy and Jake were introduced and shared their first dance. Once they started dancing the party didn’t stop. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room as the guests were treated to a very special serenade from Betsy’s grandfather, singing the same song he sung at her parents’ wedding. The celebration continued when her uncle joined the band onstage to play the drums.
The reception ended with an joyous sparkler sendoff. The newly weds and their friends then piled into a party bus and drove off to continue celebrating into the night!
